Digitizing Policy

Due to limited student and staff resources, we are going to have to implement a limit on the amount of files that can be digitized for any one faculty member each week. We have been able to add about 5000-10,000 scans a year to the database, and most of the time, we have been able to accommodate the needs of faculty. We hope that this will continue, but occasionally, we have been faced with very large amounts of files, from multiple faculty, that need to be scanned in a short time period. When this happens, we have to decide on a fair way to get all the materials done in a timely manner. In this case, we will scan 10 files for each faculty in a rotating manner, till all the scans are done. Faculty will need to plan ahead when they anticipate the need for large numbers of scans.

We are keeping a log of the amount of requests that faculty have requested, the date they put them in, and the date they need them scanned by. This will help to insure that all scans are done in the fairest possible manner.
