The ARLIS/NA Twin Cities Chapter held its summer meeting on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.  At the beginning of our meeting was a tour of the Andersen Horticulture Library, led by Renee Jensen.  Included in the tour were several rare books that were pulled out for our group to admire.  Janice Lurie, chapter chair, convened the business meeting at 11 am.  The meeting began with introductions of all in attendance, as there was a new attendee and guest. The minutes from the spring meeting were approved.  Kristen Mastel, treasurer, reported the current balance of the chapter bank account was $673.83.   Janice Lurie read a thank you letter from the 2008 Executive Board and Development Committee for the $100 ARLIS/NA Conference Welcome Party donation.  The group then discussed the need for a listserv to manage e-mails more effectively.  After a quick discussion it was determined that there was not enough traffic or volume to constitute a listserv for the ARLIS/NA- Twin Cities Chapter, however one for the 2011 conference planning committee would be needed.  We will continue to use the ARLIS - Twin Cities website for the minutes, wiki, and e-mail groups for communication.  Deborah Ultan Boudewyns was the ARLIS/NA representative and welcomed any questions or comments from the chapter that she could relay back to Board.  The Chapter inquired about where the Board was in regards to ARLIS/NA being able to host Chapter websites, that way websites are not tied to an institution or individual.  Deborah informed us that it was still in the pipelines, and that we should hear more by the end of the year.  Jessica McIntyre met with Jeanne Iverson not too long ago, and Iverson offered the Perpich Center for the Arts as a future location for an ARLIS/NA- Twin Cities meeting.  Jessica offered to work with Jeanne to set up a time for our fall meeting sometime in November, keeping in mind the dates for the Minnesota Library Association conference and the Midwest VRA meeting.  There was a brief discussion regarding the 2011 Conference Planning Committee, and the group decided that we did not need to set up another time to meet right away.  It was also mentioned that the minutes from the last meeting are on the conference planning wiki.  This concluded the Business Meeting.  Members were welcome to wander the grounds, time permitting.

Respectfully submitted,

Kristen Mastel
