Specialization
Greek and Roman Art and Greek
Architecture. His current research interests include the Mycenean
Palace at Pylos, the Medieval Architecture and Pre-Modern Folklife
in the
Morea, and the Heroon
at Messene. Professor Cooper has received numerous awards for his teaching, including
the University of Minnesota CLA Distinguished Teacher Award (1972-73 and
1989-90),
the Morse-Minnesota Alumni Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate
Education (1991) and the Archaeological Institute of America Excellence
in Undergraduate Teaching Award (1996).
