Technical Assistance

Images included in the AICT website are organized into five primary chronological and cultural groupings:
ANCIENT WORLD
MEDIEVAL
RENAISSANCE & BAROQUE
18th through 20th CENTURY
NON-WESTERN CULTURES

The user selecting any of these buttons will find that each of these primary areas is then divided into sub-categories according to historical and style periods; for example, choosing the ANCIENT button will lead the user to topical or style period sections such as:

Ancient Near East
Ancient Egypt
Art of the Aegean
Greek: Archaic
Greek: Classical and Hellenistic
Greek: Figure Sculpture
Roman Art and Architecture

Each of these options will in turn lead the user to a series of screens displaying thumbnail image excerpts, each with a brief text caption. Clicking on a thumbnail (or its underlined "main entry," such as the artist's name) will open a full page for that image, along with its descriptive information. From this page in turn, the user can click on the framed image to open a full-screen version for more detailed viewing.

Images may be printed or downloaded as digital files directly from each page. Instructions for doing this with either Mac or PC equipment will be found on each individual image page.
